Neil Diamond Smackdown: The 1960s (plus tributes!).

Neil rocked back in the 1960's, back before he got "serious". A lot of other artists covered his songs, too, some serious, some not-so-serious.

Cherry Cherry was fun stuff:

...or maybe you'd like to see Jack Black do it (not so serious):

Kentucky Woman rocked, too:

...or maybe you'd like to hear heavy metal Neil Diamond tribute band, Nine Inch Neils, do it (I'm not really sure if they're serious or not):

Deep Purple covered it. So did Waylon Jennings (serious, and pretty good):

Solitary Man was pretty good, too:

...or maybe you'd rather hear Johnny Cash do it (you gotta know he was serious):

I've got to go along with Bill Murray as Bob in "What About Bob?" on this one, "There are two types of people in this world, those that like Neil Diamond (the Tree People) and those that don't. My ex-wife, loved Neil Diamond."

Cool quote, Ange.

...but that doesn't excuse your lack of imput. Our pop liked early Neil (maybe you recall he had "Gold" and "Tap Root Manuscript"), and he sure enough wasn't a whimp, so you don't lose points for that. Feel free not to vote for "Heartlight", but ya gotta weigh in!

Hey man, the Tree People! That's all Neil, a quote from a live in Greece concert. Come on you gotta remember, oh, and I'll vote, there's actually several Neil's that I like, it's Bob that didn't like Neil.

You did, Chase. Well, how about Nine Inch Neils?
