Hair!

The Lads are at public school this year. In general, I think this is a good thing. Social attitudes are better. They have access to things like shop (oh, sorry. "Industrial Arts" is what they call it now) and music. Sadly, the dress code is quite a bit looser, and, if I want to put the hammer down on their self-expression, I can't use the school as an excuse as I had last year. I'm not wild about it, but it's not a health issue. Maybe their football coach'll say sumpin.

I've got an extra pairs of scissors. I'm mailing 'em right up.

Take the lads to a barbershop, where there is a barber. None of this hair styling shit. And the old men there will scare them into cutting their hair (dirty effing hippies). And they trim your eyebrows too!

Dave, My son has long hair and my nephew has a huge afro in his senior pictures. I happen to like longer hair on some guys. It all depends on how you wear it. If he keeps it out of his eyes, I think it's ok. Do your son's like their hair long? Are they basically good kids? Choose your battles, I say..and mine wasn't his hair or his messy room. He just started college this week and has grown into fine young man, long hair and all.

Lynne, John, I don't like the hair. I think it looks silly, but with all due respect, I'm with Tam (nice picture, BTW) on this one. Trying to keep them on the right track in school and off of drugs is job one.

Hey, I bleached my hair white and had polka-dot black spots ... don't complain about a little shaggy ... you could always send them to my alma mater ... they know how to cut hair real good. :-)

Glad you caught the Explorer's Club, no pix? No review??

Chase, I'm a little late in getting back with you on this one (and, of course, you already have the answers). El Cid for the Lads? Hmmm. Might not be a bad idea. My oldest was/is too sensitive, I think (though he did play rugby a couple of years at Sewanee), but the Lads might not be a bad fit.

I like long hair on the boys. And good for you for not getting all hung up about it.

methinks they look cool.

but if you really want them to cut it, tell them how much you dig it.
