Got some choices I'm mulling here, too. First, from A Miracle on 34th Street. The conclusion of this trial isn't bad either- lots of letters on the judges desk.
Noone should be surprised that the next one is on the list. My Cousin Vinny is one of my favorite movies.
The last second inspiration does happen in court, and the strangest things can "turn on the light" for a bit of strategy that swings the case. In My Cousin Vinny, Vinny finally understands the importance of a picture his girlfriend has taken, and he calls her to the stand to testify that the Defendants' car could not possibly have made the tire tracks found at the scene. In A Miracle on 34th Street, inspiration comes from a letter that Kris Kringle is reading and the NYC branch of the U.S. Postal Service's sending all of its Santa Claus mail to Kris at the courthouse (you can watch the conclusion as part 11/12, I think, on youTube). Anyway, both these movies are wonderful, and one of 'em'll make the cut.

I'm a huge Kris Kringle fan, hummm. You are a good big guy, but I know you love that Spider Killer, Joe Pesci.. but I'm going with Santa just beclause.
Atticus, Atticus, Atticus ...
I still want to see that one with that chick that knifed somebody, that Legally blonde Chick. That... Reece, er, shoot, I can't remember, Reece?
Wit her Spoon
No, I already said it was a Knife!
(works better if you don't answer it yourself, but that second one was supposed to be anonymous, darn!)
Ange, as much as I love My Cousin Vinny, it's not the automatic choice. I also love Miracle on 34th Street. My favorite Pesci scene isn't in MCV, it's the "What am I a joke?" scene from Goodfellas.
I watched Mag's suggested Legally Blonde/A Few Good Men spoof, and thought it was funny, but Legally Blonde won't be in my final four.
Chase, I really liked To Kill a Mockingbird, and Atticus Finch is my hero, but the courtroom drama is not in my top five or six. What I loved most about To Kill a Mockingbird is when the gallery of disenfranchised blacks stands out of respect for Atticus at the conclusion of the trial because he fought a losing battle fairly and with grace and dignity. Actually, maybe I will put it up in the mix.
I think Aman suggested legally blonde. I gave ya Pink Floyd and The Stooges.
Love the Stooges!
Here's my entry, give it some thought. I'm not quite sure what they're saying, but I do get the point. And I really like the choir robe garb. Best of all was the verdict.

That judge looked like Captain Picard.
You know, you should start a site, one that specifically catalogs court cases as depicted in movies and offers an actual legal opinion on them.
yes, Star Trek: TNG. Now there were some great trials on that show!

(can't find the best scene from this trial where acting prosecutor riker dislocates data's arm and then shuts him off)
Write about something about which I actually know things, QJ? Hmmm. I routinely use the O.J. and Mike Tyson cases with my clients as examples of what- and what not- to do in their cases. Tell you what, I'll keep my eyes peeled. Also, if there are any particular movies/shows/events that you or anyone else thinks are interesting, I'll watch them and do a post on them. And thanks for imagining anyone would care.
Mags, I've never had a prosecutor dislocate my arm, but I did have one threaten to "kick (my) @ss". I'm a pretty big guy, but he was really big and I was grateful that the judge threatened to put us both in jail if we didn't sit down. This obviously wasn't in the Boro.
Dave - you are a kindred spirit. That's my favorite scene from TKAM. I can't wait till the boys are just a little bit older...
BTW - with these two I go with Vinny.
Thanks, Kate.
