Rabbit of Seville

Quaker Jono's blog, which frequently visit, had a couple of posts on operas. I'm not a huge opera fan, but remember the Barber of Seville (as posted above).

Mags, I love that you were watching your Looney Tunes Collection the other night. I'm mildly disturbed by the image of you shaving your obese cat, but only mildly. How does your cat (we'll call her "Daphne") feel about the shavings?

Charlie loves to be shaved. She's part Persian.
I have to put up photos again.

Good for you, figuring out how to post those U-toob clips on your blog. Would you like to paste some artifacts to my tech portfolio so I can prove to my school district I'm adept at navigating my way around the computer?

Artifacts? You mean like "Salvador Dali was a Spanish painter whose works in surrealism included melting watches"?

Those old cartoons are really so much more intelligent than today's offerings.

Remember the Bugs cartoon-spoof of Wagner? "Kill the Wabbit"?

Ohhh. Wagner. Makes my little Jewish heart get all nervous when I think about it.

You got that right, Kate. I think the old cartoons were made for adults, but kids watched them, too. The really good Disney cartoons are appealing to kids and adults, even now; however, they're aimed at kids. Ironically, a lot of kids (including mine) really like Japanese anime, which are cartoons generally written for adults. Hmmm. This sounds grist for a post. Sound like post-grist to you?

Or not. I'm thinking of some of the darker anime stuff, but there's some kiddy dross in that genre, too.
