How can you tell if you've played too many "sword and sorcery" videogames? Well, if the first image that comes to mind in seeing this school is kids with spiked clubs, perhaps you've played too many sword and sorcery videogames.
For the rest of you, this is a Morning Star:
Relax. Morning Star is more than a weapon. Perhaps the school is named after this Morning Star. Obviously, it would have to be a very progressive school...

Isn't that Most Holy Redeemer in Tampa? Good school for disabled kids, I believe.
I used that tool in Baldur's Gate because it wasn't too heavy for my Elven Sorceress to carry.
Kate, Morning Star is, indeed, the sister school for Most Holy Redeemer in Tampa. I have also a picture of Most Holy Redeemer's sign. Andy's daughter went there before she began at Tampa Catholic. He's got a pretty good speil on MHR, which I 'spect I'll use at some point.
Yeah, my rogues and magic users will carry a morning star from time to time (oh, and, "morning, Star"), though I generally prefer swords.
I was confirmed and both my mother and sister were married at MHR. How's that for a small world?
Indeed, Kate. Indeed.
Kate and SuperD,
Both of my kids attended MHR. Great school. And wonderful teachers. MHR does a fabulous job of accommodating handicapped kids too. Kelly and Ali were in the same class. That is where I met Andy !
Morning Star was/is a separate school. Another gem !
Kate was right, Lynne, it is a small world afterall.
It's a small world afterall I believe is the correct pronounciation!
And actually the nuns at Morning Star do use the Morning Star for discipline. See, Morining Star used to be called Least Holy Redeemer, it was for kids who couldn't quite make it in to Most Holy Reedemer (they changed the name for marketing purposes and so they could raise the price. I mean really if they are the same price, where you going to send your kid Most or Least Holy Reedemer?) I don't remember all the differences (see we looked at both school's for Ali, I wanted to save the money, Ali's mom was all about "What's better for the kid.") but I remember a few things. LIke MHR uses the Holy Bible, LHR, the other one, the unHoly Bible (that version hedges a bit, thou shalt not covet thy neighbors wife, unless said neighbor is out of town, or she's really hot, yeah, that one is different)
Now, that's what I'm talkin' about!
