Folked Up Art.

The South Carolina Artisans Center is one of the cool places in little Walterboro. The slogan contained on the I-95 billboard depicted at left created quite a stir among some of the more reserved types in the Boro. I think it's quite catchy, myself.

I used to always like those billboards for speakers on I-4. Let us Polk you in the ear!

I hear our 11th president used to have a little fun with that one too.

Polking fun at the Presidents, Ange? Sounds good to me.

Director of SC Artisans Center and fellow Episcopalian Gale Doggette, as I live and breathe! I think you and your peeps are doing a great job, Gale. I'd say I'd see you at Church tomorrow, but I've been feeling a bit fluish.

Are there "unofficial" folk art centers in Walterboro?

Sure, Star. You've got folks selling wares in little shops all around the State. The difference in this one is that a panel of SC artists and artisans "juries in" or votes-in the artists that can exhibit their paintings, pottery, wickerware, sculptures, and whatnot. It's pretty cool.

Visit beautiful Effing, South Carolina. Make sure to stop in at the Effing Diner, those Effing Pancakes are just wonderful, and while you're there, don't forget to see the Effing Folk Art, some of the best Effing artwork in the Lowcountry!

I will look for this tomorrow as we speed toward home!

Or, perhaps you remember my favorite Georgia County, Effingham. Yeah, we know it's REAL name. Heh, heh.

Exit 57, and follow the signs, Kate. Be there or be square.

I do love Effing ham.

Er, I hope that's the adjective, rather than the verb.
