Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I know a lot about my mom's ancestors, and most of them were from England and Scotland (well, America for a long time, but, you know, way back). Know a little about dad's family: mostly Swedish, but Frank Mathews' dad (my great granddad) married a gal named Rose Lynch, I think. And if that ain't Irish, I'll kiss your... shamrock? Anyway, Internet pal Kate has a really cool Irish post today. Check it out at: Out in Left Field.

Gawl dern! We are adopted! I should have known when I went to my dad and asked. I said, "Soo Li, give it to me straight...."
I know we look Irish (you, especially), and we don't know anything about the Mathews, so we could be Irish from them. You look just like dad, so we're definitely not adopted. I've got a map of Irish family names, and there are Mathews in Tipperary, but when mom visited the area they told her Mathews is English.
This is so contrary to what my dad, Y Chang told me. I don't know how to take it.
Why do you ask, Two Dogs Humping?
I bleed green from September through November (and once every ten years in January).
Hope your day's a good 'un, Star.
Aww, shucks. Thanks Dave.
You're welcome.
