I've been way busy, of late. I got a contract on The Manor, and got to get rid of years of accumulated junk. Might be some gold in there somewhere. So Lady Di and I sorted, label and set out lots of stuff.
We're kinda new to this yard sale stuff, but we got a few shekels out of it. Enough for a nice dinner in Charleston, anyhow. Mostly, we just ended up giving a ton of stuff to Good Will.
Net result? We're pooped.

Have done this many times, and the result IS usually a few shekels and being pooped! Remember on Hiawatha we had garage sales that included the entire block and at the end of the day that morphed into pot-luck dinner. (Marilyn Hannahan DID sell her Buick at one of these! :) fdb
I do remember. Gateway Drive was just perpendicular to Hiawatha, but I considered myself an honorary Hiawathan.
I think it's more about getting rid of your junk than making money. And that's exactly why I don't stop at garage sales...I have enough junk of my own :) Glad it's over!
Too true, Star. Still, one person's junk is another's treasure.
Sarah still has two easy chairs, recovered of course, that Leo picked up for $5.00 each---we used them then passed them along---he also found and repaired 2 lazy susans, still in use, as are an end-table, magizine rack, and old-time "gossip bench". :) fdb
Mom had a buffet she picked up for 5 bucks. She refinished and we had it for years.
