Bored Games.

The Lads and I played Monotony, er, Monopoly last night. We used to play it all the time, but haven't played in a couple of years. Though it's not exactly accurate to call board games a productive use of time, it was nice that they took a break from the blinking screens of World of Warcraft and MySpace, if only for awhile. Taylor ended up smoking his twin and me.
This is where I spent most of the night.

We used to play board games at every family event/holiday. I miss that...no one here plays games. My favorite card game is Euchre, and it's tough to find three Crackers who know how to play.

Never played Euchre. I've played my share of Crazy 8's, though.

Crazy 8's... that brings back great memories. I love family game night, we played Yahtzee, rummy, and board games all the time... Those were the days... When I go back to Philly we play games until dawn.

Good times, for sure, JG.

Not Yahtzee, but still fun. Cool that you have that time with the twins.

And Star, I love Euchre. I used to play for money in tournaments every Sunday afternoon at the local pub. I didn't win much money but there is nothing like a Sunday afternoon buzz.

I was not much of a game player when i was kid, but did enjoy Monopoly. We used to set the game up on a peice of unused countertop we kept from a kitchen renovation and when we got tired...we just shoved it under our beds or put it in the closet. When we wanted to play again, we just pulled it out and picked up where we left off. We wrote down whose turn was next so that we didn't forget. I lost most of the time because I was too cheap to buy property. As I got older, I figured out you have to spend money to make money. I remember my friend's piece was always the dog. I don't remember what mine and my sister's were. Getting old.

Now i remember, I was the car...my sister was the horse. I had to look up the pieces to remember what they were. My sister has the original game from the very early
70's..all the pieces included.

Good memories, Tam. The Lads and I draw pieces by chance. Seems everyone wants to be the hat or the racecar.
