Brother Andy and his lovely daughter, Alison, stopped by at the conclusion of their college tour last weekend. Andy and Ali visited Emory, Wake Forest, Elon, Furman, Duke, UNC, and UVa, then spent the night in the Boro (which is about half-way between Charlottesville and Tampa). Ali's a smart gal, you see; and she has choices. I'm fairly sure she's never made anything but an "A" in any class she's taken, and her S.A.T. scores got her an invite to apply to all sorts of schools, including Yale. Yeah, yeah, but more impressive still...
...is that she proudly sports earrings inspired by Harry's Potter's "Deathly Hallows".

My, my, Ali has grown up nicely! Beautiful young lady...smart....AND shares the love of one my favorite book series! Did she make any decision yet about schools? fdb
Nancy's pushing for FSU, but Duke and UVa are apparently the leading contenders at this point, Frandy. Dance school figures prominently, and, of course, money. I'm pushing for Duke, because that's where mom went (before transferring to Wyoming).
Our Godson went to Duke--loved it.
Why did Lydia transfer? fdb
beautiful gal. UNC-CH would be a fine choice! (not that i'm biased or anything).
She thought Wyoming was pretty, Frandy. I've made important decisions for worse reasons.
She is, Col. UNC-CH is in her top five, Col. You a Tarheel, Col? I thought you were an NDU gal.
Some of us wonder where she got those smarts. I of course would have pushed for ND :)
Anyway, we finally saw HP last night.
Star, you may not know it from AndyMan and Me, but our mom was one smart cookie. Must be a generation-skipping thing. You must've waited for the lines to abate before seeing, HP, no?
