Time Magazine's Palmetto State Person of the Year

Ben Bernanke, Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, has been named Time Magazine's "Person of the Year". I'm personally a bigger fan of his predecessor, Alan Greenspan, but I do dig that Bernanke is from Dillon, South Carolina, and that he used to be a waiter at a restaurant at super-kitschy South of the Border. Go, Pedro!

Good Grief---I've driven by there. In fact, I think we once considered stopping. :) fdb

See, Frandy, you could've been served by the future Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board! That said, unless you are into tacky statues, there is no really good reason to stop at South of the Border.

I loved South of the Border when I was a kid. As an adult we went back and I was shocked at how big and commerical it was. I use to remember the road signs that would say Pedro says only 50 more miles... ahh the memories of there and Stuckeys...
